Free!

I'm looking forward to spring.

Update

This week a lot happened:
We were in the local paper playing bike polo on the front page;
I got a call from "the man" saying, "you can't play bike polo on campus unless you are a WSU organization.";
I got an e-mail from WSU saying we will pay you for two bicycle maintenance clinics in April;
Fran gets YMCA very interested;
Ryan spies Reese in a car, ooh the shame:(
Nate does drawings in forgien lands that will shape our future; and
Scott does the most important thing of all, rides bikes with the next generation.

Revolution

Is it political? Does it inspire? Is it Good or Bad? Is it always happening? Does it happen without us? Does it stand for War or Peace or Freedom or Liberty or Law or Oppression or Change or...?
"A revolution is an idea which has found its bayonets."
— Napoleon Bonaparte

A local community providing for itself in spite of economic, political, or cultural forces. A revolution is an idea which has found its bicycles.

Good night.

logo version 2.3

Logo version 3.2

I am posting images one at a time to prevent crashing. My internet speed is about the equivalent of 56K dial up--when it actually works.

Three new images for comments--I did Fran's statue of liberty idea in a couple of styles and reworked the USSR image again.

Check this out...

Everytime I watch this I have a different experience. I did notice that there is a page that compares bicycle production against automobiles, and bikes win!!!

Let's get our shop open. The world needs us.

Logo version 2.2

I reworked the original drawing for your purview. Please see my reply to Fran's discussion and give feedback--I don't want to railroad my own bias through without consensus.

%#&!! I created the picture in adobe acrobat and I can't figure out how to upload it here. I will send it via the google group.

Dialogue around conceptual framework of our evolving logo

Okay--thanks naters, we're onto something, and I love the idea of remaining open to how the conceptual image evolves. Like the play with reclaiming revolutionary images. We may need a brake cable to attach to the globe :) one thing that seems important is to capture the idea of the multitude--the commons--as those who really create revolutionary change--and I think for all of us, it's through the daily act of riding a bike and all that's connected to that--lifestyle choices committed to sustainability, wellness, joy, community. I think the woman could represent that...What do we think? What comes to mind?
Sweet cranks! I think Soviet propoganda as well.
working on a logo--i took Scott's chainring and globe idea and crossed it with something inspired by a soviet propoganda poster--what do you folks think?

The Space

We are creating a space in Pullman Washington to grow our community. We are passionate about the bicycle and see it as an instrument that can bring people together. If you want to be involved post here your hopes, dreams, and ideas for a better Pullman.
